Job application procedure

The vacancy text specifies the manner in which you can respond. The faculty or expertise centre with the vacancy will handle your reaction and inform you of the job application procedure. Generally, the first step is a selection from among the application letters, followed by two rounds of job interviews and an interview to discuss the terms of employment.

The rules applying to recruitment and selection can be found in the Leiden University Regulations on Filling Vacancies 2014. In addition, Leiden University is bound by the Job Application Code of the Dutch Association for Personnel Management and Organisation Development (NVP). This code is based on such principles as fairness, transparency and confidentiality. For more information, see the NVP website.
